Advising Instructions: Registering for Fall 2008
March 26 - May 12, 2008

Greetings from the Director

Early registration for Fall 2008 will be held from March 26 - May 12, 2008. YOUR SPECIFIC REGISTRATION DATE can be obtained through Testudo. Please note that this is the date you are to register. Therefore, you must have met with your faculty mentor and received your mandatory advising prior to that time. In addition, students new to the Department this semester or who need to revised their grduation plans must have their graduation plans completed and approved before they will be allowed to register.

You do not need to come to the ECE Undergraduate Office to pick up advising materials. All the information that you need is accessible on the Web.

I wish you much success with the remainder of this semester. Please feel free to contact the Undergraduate Office staff if you have any concerns or need assistance.

Sincerely,

Judith Bell, Ed.D.
Director of Undergraduate Academic and Administrative Affairs

Mandatory Advising

All Electrical and Computer Engineering students are required to receive mandatory advising. Please carefully read the instructions below as well as the information on the pages directly linked from this page.

How to Select Your Schedule

Students who have already completed their 4-year graduation plan should have a very good idea of exactly what courses they should be taking. However, if you have not completed a graduation plan or you wish to make minor or major adjustments to your plan of study you should carefully review all registration information on the ECE advising website. If you haven't already, you should also consider reviewing the sample plans and road maps for EE or CP as relevant. You should also review the most up-to-date schedule of classes on Testudo. Once you have selected the courses you wish to take make sure you complete the appropriate registration worksheet for either EE or CP before your advising appointment.

How to Satisfy Mandatory Advising

For 100/200-Level ECE Courses

If you plan to register for 100/200-level electrical or computer engineering courses you must have these courses approved by an advisor in the ECE Undergraduate Office (2429 A.V. Williams). This can be done in one of two ways:

300/400-Level ECE Courses

If you are planning to register for 300/400-level electrical or computer engineering courses you may satisfy your mandatory advising in one of three ways:

  • By attending the regularly scheduled walk-in advising hours,
  • By making an appointment to see one of the professional advising staff,
  • Or through "Drop-Off Registration" which entails completing your Registration Worksheet and submitting it to the ECE Undergraduate Office (2429 A.V. Williams).

AMPERE Students

If you are an AMPERE student you must meet with your assigned AMPERE advisor. Contact the ECE Undergraduate Office to schedule an appointment with your AMPERE advisor.

Student Athletes

If you are an athlete you must also receive advising from an advisor in the College Office of Undergraduate Advising and Academic Support (OUAAS).
