Handout turn-in policy:
Pre-laboratory reports are due before you work on the hands-on portion during the laboratory hours. (For example, if you will be doing laboratory#1 next time, you should be reading the lab#1 handout and turn in the pre-lab report for #1, as well as the post-lab report for #0 the next time when you step into room 1330.)
You will prepare your own pre- and post-laboratory reports. You share data with your partner, but you need to write your own reports.
A late pre-laboratory report will earn at most 50% of the score when late by one week, and 0% the 2nd week. (Here, by late, it means that you are late compared with your partner.)
The post-laboratory report is due one week after you have finished the hands-on work. The full score will be deducted 10% if late by one week, 20% the 2nd, etc.
Laboratory handouts
Laboratory#0 --- to get familiar with the equipment, data acquisition, and data storage (only post-lab report is required.)
Laboratory#1 --- PN junction diode, its I-V curve measurement, and its application in a dc power supply
Laboratory#2 --- (You are expected to begin to run lab#2 from the week of 2/11/07.)
The I-V curves of n-MOSFET and p-MOSFET; n-MOSFET Common-source amplifier, & frequency response
Laboratory#3 --- CMOS used as an analog linear amplifier, and a digital inverter; frequency response
Laboratory#4 --- The I-V curves of 2n3904 and 2n3906 bipolar transistors, and current mirrors built by them
Laboratory#5 --- The differential pair amplifier with the current mirror as the current source and the active load; frequency response
Laboratory#6 --- LF353 operational amplifier: amplifier, filter, integrator, and multivibrator
Laboratory#7 --- Quartz tuning fork (ECSdatasheet)oscillator with a CMOS inverter (CD4049)as a driver
Laboratory#8 --- CMOS implementation of SRAM and common logic gates, such as the ring oscillator, NAND, NOR, XOR, etc.
Electronic Circuits Design Laboratory; (2 credits) Prerequisite: ENEE 302. Students will design,
construct and test analog and digital circuits at the transistor level. Bipolar
and field effect transistors will be covered. Circuits designed will include
common emitter and differential amplifiers, active filter, TTL and CMOS logic
gates. Students should gain much of the background required for the design of
modern microelectronic circuits.

Lecture on Wednesday 9:00am- 9:50am (EGR1202)
Grading
method:
1/3 on pre-laboratory report (as homework); 1/3 on
during-the-laboratory performance; and the last 1/3 on post-laboratory report.
For the
description of pre-lab- and post-lab-reports, please find the links below on prelab and postlab reports.
The pre-lab
report is for you to first review the subject material from the ENEE303
textbook. That is, you should have grasped a good understanding to the circuit
to be built when you come to this laboratory course.
The
post-lab report has the experimentally measured facts, your comparison to
equations (theory), and your other observations or discussions.
There is a total of 8 laboratories this semester that you must
finish.
No written
final examination, but a mandatory quiz will be provided at the end of the
semester. You must pass the quiz to obtain an “A.”
